DOF Subsea

The Project

DOF Subsea was relocating from The Exchange on Market Street in Aberdeen, where desking and furniture for approximately 120 personnel was located over two floors, to new purpose built offices at Horizons House on Waterloo Quay, also in the city. Following a competitive process, Shore Porters was delighted to be selected by DOF Subsea to work with them in carrying out this substantial relocation.

The Challenges

The project presented various challenges including the requirement to carry out the move during normal business hours and very restricted loading times for removal vehicles on Market Street. The service provided also included the provision of regular post-move support at Horizons House. This support included the correct positioning of all furniture, IT equipment and crates at each phase of the move to ensure personnel were fully operational on schedule. Minimising disruption to DOF Subsea’s operations was top of Shore Porters priorities and we achieved this through:
As well as minimising disruption for DOF Subsea personnel, Shore Porters had to consider the impact of the project on the traffic flow through Market Street. Our large removal vehicles were positioned so as to cause minimum disruption to traffic and loading was undertaken strictly in accordance with the prescribed loading times.

The Outcome

The project for DOF Subsea was successfully completed over a two week period with in excess of 20 lorry loads of furniture being moved over to Horizons House. Shore Porters also disposed of/recycled one load of redundant items. Shore Porters provided a relocation schedule that fully met the operational needs of DOF Subsea. The relocation process was successfully carried out with Shore Porters move management service allowing DOF Subsea to focus on maintaining day to day operations throughout the transition to their new office facility.
