Representatives from one of the world’s oldest companies, the Shore Porters’ Society, are getting set to travel to East Asia to attend a leading international removals conference.
Partner Euan Cuthbert and Colin Davidson, the company’s international removal manager, will attend the FIDI 2014 conference in Singapore from March 30 – April 2.
The annual event is organised by FIDI, the largest global alliance of independent quality international removal companies, and will see over 600 delegates descend on the city for the four day conference.
The conference, located this year at the five-star Carlton Millenia Singapore Hotel, has established itself as an important event in the removals sector calendar and is attended by key individuals from across the world. This year, attendees will be able to take in talks from a number of keynote speakers including New Zealand Olympic gold medallist Rob Waddel and renowned business speaker and author Nanz Chong-Komo.
Euan Cuthbert said: “The FIDI conference holds as high an importance within the removals sectors as events like OTC and Offshore Europe do within the oil and gas world and we’re delighted to be heading back this year.
“Attending these sort of events allows Shore Porters to remain at the forefront of the industry, helping the company understand what the latest trends within the sector are and what challenges and opportunities are expected throughout the remainder of the year. It’s great to meet with key industry employees and with both existing and potential international clients.”
The Shore Porters’ Society has more than 515 years’ experience, dealing with local national and international moves in a variety of sectors including domestic, commercial, antiques, fine art and storage. Last year, the ISO 9001 certified company opened a new £2million storage facility that has the capacity to hold 2,500 pallets. It currently employs over 100 staff from its north-east headquarters in Aberdeen.
